Kick In For Equal Pay

The campaign has ended, but the fight continues.

We stand with the US Women's National Team Players Association (USWNTPA) as they fight for equal pay. The USWNT Players earn up to $9,000 less per win at the global level than the USMNT. While the women played in Tokyo in summer of 2021, Title Nine contributed $1,000,000 directly to the USWNTPA to help close the pay gap for the international games they played to win the bronze medal in front of the world.

But the wage gap extends far beyond Tokyo, so we also established the Kick In for Equal Pay Fund. The contribution period is now closed and the fund exists as a financial resource for the USWNTPA in its ongoing efforts to fight for equal pay.

The USWNT has won 2 more Gold Medals than the USMNT, and 4 World Championships. The women’s team generated about $32 million more in revenue between 2015 through 2019 than their male counterparts – but were paid $64 million less than what the men would have received for the same performance.

Together, with your contributions kicked in, we created the Equal Pay Fund for the USWNTPA to utilize in its ongoing efforts to fight for equal pay. The contribution period is now closed, but stay tuned for what’s next. It’s gonna take all of us to make the change we want to see.

Equal work = Equal pay

In 1963, the U.S. passed the Equal Pay Act in an attempt to close the wage gap between male and female workers. Today, systemic pay inequities still exist for women who earn only 82 cents for every dollar paid to a man. The disparity is even greater for mothers who are paid 70 cents for every dollar a father earns.

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) estimates that the lifetime loss for the average woman who works full-time for 40 years is over $400,000 – meaning she'd have to work 9 years longer than a male colleague to close the gap.

A woman would have to work 9 more years to make up the lifetime wage gap
